Historic Centennial Neighborhood Plan

Lafayette, IN

Introduction

The City of Lafayette, CityBus, and the Historic Centennial Neighborhood Association have teamed up to prepare a Neighborhood Plan that will be adopted as an amendment to the City of Lafayette Comprehensive Plan.

The Historic Centennial Neighborhood Plan will focus on an area on the northwest side of downtown Lafayette, IN. The study area is located south of Union Street, North of Ferry Street, and west of Ninth Street.

The Plan will bring a visionary approach to addressing neighborhood, transportation and riverfront objectives. Primary objectives for the Plan include:

  • Exploring ways to revitalize underutilized land through new, compatible infill development.
  • Preserving, protecting and enhancing the historic character of the neighborhood to encourage a high quality of life and to illustrate the uniqueness of this area.
  • Capitalizing on newly identified connectivity and multimodal opportunities.
  • Enhancing opportunities for physical and visual connections to the water’s edge in concert with the Wabash Riverfront Enhancement Corporation’s (WREC) urban riverfront master plan.

Throughout the project there will be opportunities for public involvement and feedback, so look for future announcements!
